Examinations

Dr. Morse Michels takes pride in providing state-of-the-art eye exams. Our offices are equipped with the latest high-tech instruments to perform all our examinations. We give a complete health eye examination with the emphasis on finding any physical or health problems in addition to checking for cataracts, glaucoma and dry eye.

Diopsys® NOVA-VEP Vision Assessment

Dr. Michels has added the most advanced Vision Testing System.

The system is a painless, non-invasive vision test that objectively measures the function of the visual pathway from the eyes to the visual center of the brain.

The Diopsys® NOVA device does this by using a technology called Visual Evoked Potential (VEP). The VEP technology in the Diopsys® NOVA device helps us determine how your eyes communicate with your brain in a way that no other instrument or vision test can.

This is an important test for the following:

  • Glaucoma
  • Amblyopia
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Brain Injury
  • Strokes
  • Optic Nerve Disorders

Non-Myd Camera for Retinal Disease Diagnosis

Our exams not only determine if you require prescription glasses they also aid in screening and early detection of various eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, cataract, and glaucoma, hypertension and diabetes.

Our GDx Optic Nerve Analyzer for Early Detection of Glaucoma

Over one million Americans have glaucoma but don’t know it!

Because glaucoma is like no other disease. Dr. Michels will use the GDx exam to detect glaucoma-while there’s still time.

Fundus Camera for Early Diagnosis of Glaucoma

For some patients, Dr. Michels may recommend that you undergo additional specialized tests. Some of these tests can be performed in our office while others may require a visit to a specialist in the area of concern.

Humphrey Matrix Test for Detection of Visual Field Loss and Glaucoma

Our safe modern equipment and techniques used to diagnose your vision ensure prompt treatment of conditions to maintain the health of your eyes and the quality of your eyesight.
In preparation of your eye exam appointment you should prepare a list of any allergies and any medications you are currently taking. You should also bring your medical history, insurance information, eyeglasses and contact lenses if any are worn.

The OPD-Scan II offers a wide variety of corneal data

A device that provides information on corneal topography, wavefront, autorefraction, keratometry and pupillometry.

An instrument that combines a confocal microscope, a noncontact endothelial microscope and a precision pachymeter to conduct full thickness corneal measurements and to localize intracorneal structures, including haze.

The MARCO M3 Autorefractor

The First Combination Unit, introduces three automated products in one:
Refractor, Keratometer, and Non-Contact Tonometer.
The M3 provides accurate measurements. The M3 3-D auto-tracking (x, y, z) and auto-focusing provide unparalleled efficiency in diagnostic techniques.
